YOU HAVE NOT BEEN HONEST

To represent the artists in this exhibition of contemporary film and video, we designed a publication using languages common in the films themselves – both documentary and fiction. Artists in the show included Ryan Gander, Rosalind Nashashibi, Margaret Salmon. We used different ideas from screen and documentary - the Red, Green and Blue (of light) overprinted on the cover makes black (to read) rather than white (as projected on-screen); a pattern used throughout is made up out of 1 x 1 pixel size units; and for the headline typeface we adapted an Optical Character recognition font which was originally designed to be able to translate images of text to machine-editable text to be used on screen.
