Very Abstract and Hyper Figurative was an exhibition provoking a series of questions about art history and painting. The exhibition design played with ideas of display common in cultural history museums (such as large glass vitrines) and takes place within a fictional museum to explore the possibilites of institutional critique. We also referenced the display methods these institutions use, but slightly exaggerated or distorted them to create our designs. For example, within the triangle labels, we applied gold leaf; and on the walls we used a dark green from the range of recommended colours that are perfect for the eye to view details.
