Having been in existence for 25 years, it was felt that the Turner Prize - through its design - should feel more of an established award. We developed a new identity for the Turner Prize and made a new version of the Wolff Olins Tate typeface specifically for the award, which uses swash letters and non-aligning numbers. For the publicity campaigns on tube posters, press adverts and invitations we used our new Turner Prizer logo in combination with four images of the four artists’ work.
The comments room was designed in collaboration with Michael Marriott – cork was applied to the walls, and surfaces of long tables and benches, to which visitors could pin their comments that they had written in response to seeing the Turner Prize exhibition. They also could 'vote' by taking a badge with one of the four artists’ names. There was a publication that was designed specifically for the exhibition. < projects |
