TATE GUIDE
Tate Britain, Modern, Liverpool, St Ives

This bi-monthly guide launched June/July 2008, lists everything that is happening in all the TATEs around the UK, from the latest exhibitions, to talks, films and screenings, and visiting information. The guide is created to bring together cross-TATE listings information replacing several individual leaflets. When briefing us to re-design it, the Tate described the guide as their ‘single most important piece of print marketing, and a key communication tool’ and they print over 150,000 of each issue.

Our aim was to make the guide clearer, simpler to use and more elegant. We wanted it to be instantly recognizable, so the immediate change was to name the guide straightforwardly ‘TATE: JUNE/JULY’. Even without the TATE logo, it is obviously a TATE publication. We wanted the cover to be so simple that every cover image could speak for itself.
