Kirsty Carter and Emma Thomas set up their London-based design studio A Practice For Everyday Life (APFEL) back in 2003. With work that is always deceptively simple, yet functional, sensitive and honest, the duo redesigned The Architects' Journal (above), with its art editor Sarah Douglas, earlier this year to great acclaim.
