Page 22 Class of 2007 - Ancient And Modern by APFEL Just a small London gallery and only a year old, Ancient and Modern has nonetheless been the venue for some of the city's most captivating shows in 2008. Only fitting , then, that these exhibitions should be accompanied by some of the best art-related graphic ephemera to flit through the Grafik letterbox in 2007. The attention to detail , diminutive stature and beautiful materials that APFEL have apportioned to the flyers, invites and leaflets for each show make them feel like missives to treasure and keep and we paid homage to them in issue 148's Art Special Report. There's a taste of the past in the papers, fonts and processes, which perfectly echoes the gallery's location in one of the most historical parts of town. Well worth visiting (and, of course, signing up to the mailing list). |
