Jointly curated and hosted by the two galleries around the idea of the original Jules Verne novel, in this exhibition, nineteen artists explore the themes of travel, movement, migration, race, class, politics which run through the story. We took inspiration from the first edition book from 1872 to create an illustrated identity like a book initial and illustrated plate. The book not only represents the artists in the show, but also contains travel statistics and a summary of the original story.
The catalogue we designed to accompany the exhibition at South London Gallery and ICA is one 20 shortlisted from an original 124 entries for this years The Art Newspaper and AXA Art Exhibition Catalogue Award 2006
